In addition to the basic fundamental academic skills, The Young School also offers its students: • Specific classes in physical, biological and ecological sciences. • A choice of foreign language classes Spanish, French, beginning in grade 1. • Music classes, singing, dancing, playing instruments, and reading music as well as music appreciation. • Art classes, including drawing, painting, sculpturing and art appreciation. • Physical education/Yoga • Exposure to the importance of agriculture to California’s economy. • Frequent field trips to museums, science exhibitions and parks to reinforce the cultural and community outreach goals of The Young School. • Comprehensive testing which determines what the children need to learn.
